Happy Birthday Elvis - From a Local Elvis Presley Fan Club!

On January 8, 2007, Elvis Presley would have been 72 years old.

Although Turner Classic Movies had a film festival marathon of Elvis movies for viewers and fans to enjoy, not much else was said about Elvis' birthday, except brief reportings on some local news stations.

However, it was a different story for Elvis Presley fans in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The local Elvis Presley Fan Club of Sterling Heights Michigan hosted an Elvis Presley birthday party on January 8, 2007.

I had the privilege of being invited to the birthday party. Although I didn't know what to expect at first, it turned out to be a very festive occasion. When I got off the plane, I was greeted by local fan club spokesperson, Gloria Norton. Ms. Norton was wearing her fan club hat and coat, and provided me with a hat, and windbreaker jacket, with fan club logos all over it.

The small group of people who greeted me for this festive occasion created a little commotion from quite a bit of people at the airport, not to mention a little attention from airport officials. It was all in good fun. I was chauffeured to the airport hotel and settled in for the afternoon and prepared for the evening's occasion.

When I arrived at the local Lions Club Recreation Hall, I was surprised to find how elaborately the celebration was decorated. Not to mention the great crowd of people present to celebrate Elvis Presley's birthday. Wow. They didn't even know Elvis personally, and they went to all this trouble.

There were several tasty birthday cakes and finger foods available. There was a large-screen television showing highlights of Elvis movies, and live performances recorded in the 1950s, in 1970s. The people played games and shared their personal Elvis belongings to include photo albums, knickknacks, and small Elvis trinkets.

There was also a contest drawing, were the winner received a very nice Elvis painting along with a double CD set of Elvis songs from RCA records.

Although I did not win the contest drawing, I enjoyed the reaction from the couple who won the painting and CD set.

The highlight of the evening was a local Elvis impersonator who sang about a dozen songs, which included Heartbreak Hotel, Treat Me Nice, Can't Help Falling In Love, Love Me Tender, Blue Hawaii, and many more. The entertainer had a very impressive set up. He had a karaoke machine and PA system that sounded surprisingly good. He wore a white jumpsuit, reminiscent of the performances Elvis gave at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas back in the early 1970s.

The Elvis impersonator also sounded surprisingly good. I enjoyed watching him give away several scarves to the women in the audience. But the highlight of the evening was when he provided three senior citizen women with scarves. He sang songs to these ladies, gave them scarves, and brought tears to their eyes as he sang songs to them and spoke some kind words to them. Needless to say, it made their night, and mine as well.

The performance lasted about an hour, and the birthday party continued until a little after midnight. I was a little embarrassed to be called up to the front of the recreation hall and introduced to all of the Elvis fans as a reporter documenting the event. Oh well, it's all in the day's work. I enjoyed the cake, and snacks, and drinks provided by the festive occasion.

I was then given more gifts then I could squeeze in my suitcase to remind me of this occasion and new friends I had made this evening.

I had some trouble squeezing in all of the Elvis trinkets, memorabilia, and good luck charms that I was provided with from the good people of Sterling Heights. When I checked through security at the airport to go back home, an interesting thing happened.

One of my carry-on bags got some attention from the Department Of Home Security people. They asked me to step aside an open up my bag. One of the Elvis memorabilia gifts given to me was a small container of shampoo shaped like Elvis. The security people informed me that I was not allowed to carry this piece of memorabilia on the plane as it was against regulations. I had to leave my small Elvis shampoo holder at the airport. I wonder what would become of it?

If the airport security people are Elvis fans, no doubt it's probably sitting in their bathroom today.

The Truth About Elvis

If you really want to know the truth about Elvis Presley, I believe I know the answer. In other words, if all of the controversy and publicity has excited your curiosity of whether Elvis Presley is really alive or not, you've come to the right place.

Here's why:

There has been much research completed in this subject. Recently, the filmmaker Adam Muskiewicz has completed a film titled, The Truth About Elvis. Although I respect the filmmaker for his objective research and documentation, there is still no overwhelming evidence that Elvis is alive somewhere in hiding.

I believe it's mostly wishful thinking. Believe me, I would love to find out that Elvis Presley is really alive somewhere. As much as I would like it to be true myself, there is no evidence that he did not die. Furthermore, there is no evidence pointing to the fact that Elvis is alive and hiding somewhere. There is only speculation, and claims that he was seen somewhere.

Most of the cases that claim of his sighting are not even reliable. The question of whether Elvis was spotted or not seems to be similar to whether or not a UFO was really sighted. On August 16, 1977 it was announced that Elvis Presley was dead at 42 years old. If Elvis Presley was really alive, why would he be hiding?

Think about it. If Elvis were alive and wanted the ultimate privacy, he could have achieved it in this day and age of top technology. He would not have needed to go through the trouble of making everyone think he's dead.

On the other hand, if he did stage his own death on August 16, 1977, he has done a tremendous job at keeping it a secret. However, I don't believe it was part of Elvis Presley's character to pull such a thing off. Even though Elvis enjoyed his privacy by renting theaters and amusement parks, I believe he ultimately valued his fame and popularity even more.

Elvis loved being on stage and loved the excitement of a live audience. If Elvis were really alive somewhere and hiding, it means he would have given up the privilege of performing, and interacting with a live audience.

Again, I don't believe that it was in Elvis Presley's character to misrepresent himself and pull off such a hoax of this nature. Moreover, I believe he would have missed recording records, and performing on stage too much to do this. If it were true, did he or didn't he, let his family know about it?

Although it is very exciting and somewhat even romantic to dwell on the idea that Elvis Presley may be alive, the truth of the matter is, he's really dead.

Would Elvis Presley give up all rights to see and be a part of his daughter's life?

Even more important, he would have given up watching his grandchildren live and grow. You may be thinking to yourself that perhaps his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, was part of the hoax and remains to keep his identity a secret.

I don't believe this is the case, either. Lisa Marie Presley has gone down too many paths, and has lived a life that is reflective of losing a parent at a very young age. I don't believe she would have done the things she did, and lived the life she has over the years, while secretly visiting her father in some secret place.

I find it even harder to believe that Elvis was really alive, hiding somewhere, and this information was withheld from her. In other words, I don't believe for one minute that Lisa Marie Presley would not be given this information. I believe that Elvis loved his daughter too much to sacrifice not being able to see her and be a part of her life.

Let's go back to the theory that Elvis is hiding somewhere. Maybe he did inform Lisa Marie of this information and she has kept it secret, and still interacts with her father regularly. Maybe Elvis is a part of her life, and her childrens' lives.

Does this sound logical?

I don't think so.

If that were the case, she would be secretly visiting her father, sharing her grandchildren, her life and theirs, all in secret. Of course, the press or anyone else wouldn't have a clue about this information.

Does this sound like something real?

Does this sound like something that could be pulled off in our age of satellites that can take pictures of someone in the yard of their home?

So you have to believe in one of three theories. Elvis Presley is still alive and he did not tell his daughter of this secret information. Or, Elvis Presley is really alive and he told his daughter about it, who remains to keep it is secret, to this day.

Again, I believe that something would have happened over the years of her visitations, and Elvis' interactions with her and her family, that would have leaked information to the press.

Then we come to the theory that Elvis is really dead. This is the theory that seems to make the most sense. Even though this is the reasonable theory, most people cannot accept the fact of the truth about Elvis.

The truth about Elvis is, the man was an amazing recording artist, entertainer, and personality. However, he's dead. As much as I would like to relate different information, or reveal secret information, the truth is overwhelmingly obvious.

Elvis Lives - In Caleta de Fuste

Another hard night for me (joke); this time I am to watch Danny Summers perform his Elvis show.

I have seen Danny play in various bars around Caleta de Fuste a few times, and he’s always great, but tonight in front of 600 people he is fantastic. We are in the Hotel Barcelo in Caleta de Fuste, and the place is packed. They have a large performance area, and this is ideal for Danny’s act.

Being an Elvis fan, as I have been since I was eight, this was a real treat, he looks the part and sounds the part; in fact: Elvis lives…in Fuerteventura. Singing songs that spanned Elvis’ entire career, we are treated to American Trilogy, That’s Alright, Treat Me Nice, and Suspicious Minds, to start with, then later we are witness to fine versions of (Marie’s the Name) His Latest Flame, and even GI Blues and Its Now Or Never.

An impressive songbook and an impressive voice to match too, some would say, almost operatic in range.

His act is generally an hour, but he has been known to be on stage for up to two hours; so he obviously has a wealth of material to draw from. The stage at the Barcelo is well suited for a performer such as Danny, as he likes to move around and play up to the audience, as he does tonight. At one point he was singing to a child in the audience, and the crowd loved it; not so sure the child did, but that’s to be expected I guess.

In all, and as I said earlier, a great show from a performer that knows how to work an audience, and even brings his own jumpsuit. You can’t say fairer than that.

Catch Danny at the Barcelo in Caleta de Fuste on alternate Mondays from 2145pm. Or call +34664750321.

Costume Wigs

Wigs are a duplicate arrangement of real or synthetic hair that can be worn to hide baldness and hair loss. Apart from this basic purpose, many have effectively used wigs for various other reasons. It is obvious that people can't change their haircut, color and style as they please. This is because natural hair growth is a natural process that can't be hastened.

Theatrical groups use various costume wigs. They are often loud and overdone, similar to the true nature of theatre. It is obvious that a Victorian play would look incomplete without a seventeenth century hairdo. Classics that are performed would appear inadequate if men didn't wear their hair long. Costume wigs can effectively recreate a certain era or idea if used well. They are immensely popular during carnivals and road shows. Performers who partake in opening and closing ceremonies of world-renowned events use them. Since these performances revolve around elaborate dance, song and sequences it is important to find varieties that can be secured well. This is important because if costume wigs fall of during an act, it could cause distraction.

Fashion houses that strive to create outfits for a particular look use costume wigs extensively. Models usually walk the ramp with unique styled clothing, make up and well matched wigs. Costume wigs are available in various colors that include purple, orange, green and yellow. Such loud accessories are not meant to put of potential customers but help create a singular look.

Apart from this, detective and secret services use costume wigs. Well made wigs can help such professionals present false appearances without raising suspicion. They are used to change a person's appearance considerable and sometimes even take on a different nationality. Costume wigs are also worn during religious and ceremonial events to imitate a traditional look. The film industry also makes use of costume wigs for actors who are shooting for numerous films simultaneously. Since it is not possible for them to acquire numerous looks at the same time, costume wigs serve the purpose.

Elvis and the Golden Age of Rock and Roll Party

Elvis themed paper party goods can be popular retro-themes for many occasions honoring people aged eight to eighty. What's really fun is to combine the rock and roll theme with one of the settings of his comedy movies. Rock around the clock, Jail house blues or blue Hawaii themes then take the Elvis memorabilia to a new decorating plane.

Probably the best of these possible decorating themes would be an Elvis in Hawaii Luau/ beach party. This hybrid theme allows the host or hostess to draw from a lot of different sources for both paper party goods as well as games and menu ideas.

While the 50's era diner and rock-and-roll jukebox will be the simplified party theme there are also lots of Hawaiian Luau decorating ideas. The jailhouse rock Elvis party can feature a menu of bread and water. Better make than toasted bread cubes served with spinach dip in a hollowed out round bread loaf though. It wouldn't hurt matters if the water was one of those more expensive bottled varieties though. The color scheme for table cloths and centerpiece might be the basic black and white stripe. This might be a fun card party or other simple occasion.

By contrast the Elvis Hawaiian Luau party menu can be very elaborate and even include the whole hog roast of traditional island fare. These cooking instructions are very involved and require a lot of preparation but will create a memorable occasion. A simplified version of luau pork is probably available from a local restaurant for carry out. Order ahead and have an accurate head count so that guests will not be slighted on the main course.

Regardless of which kind of main dish -- whether pork or king crab -- always add tropical fruit dishes and pineapple is expected.

How To Find The Best Halloween Costume Shops

For a successful Halloween costume, you really need to start with the end in mind. What is it you want to be... Scary? Sexy? Glamorous? Just plain weird? If you've been invited to more than one party, you might even need more than one costume. After all, you might want to be a little more conservative at the office party than you would at your best friend's.

Once you have your goal in mind, a good costume shop will be able to help you get it together. You can buy your costume, but it can be a little too predictable if you wear the same one year after year. For that reason, a rental may be your best choice.

Of course, you can always opt for one of the pre-packaged costumes you'll find at your local store but honestly, they don't usually do it justice. If you spend the same money on a rental, you'll come out a lot further ahead.

A great costume really comes down to the little details. If you want to be unrecognizable on Halloween, these details can be critical. For example, a scary mask will hide your identity but it's far more effective to work with a costume shop that can use some theatrical makeup to completely transform you.

When your costume search is underway, be sure that you find a costume shop that offers everything you need. Some really don't have much of a selection so you'll have a much smaller chance of finding what you want.

Look for a shop that not only has the costume you want, but all the accessories you might need to personalize it and make it your own. Wigs, makeup, fake blood, fake cigarettes (complete with fake smoke) and other little things can make all the difference.

Grab Your Share Of The Elvis Presley Millions

August 2007 sees the 30th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death. His estate has made so many more millions in the 30 years since his death than he ever did when he was alive, and there is no reason why you can't cash in yourself...

Let's not forget that Elvis did make a multi million pound fortune in his career, but a mixture of dodgy management deals, a prodigious spending habit and a drug addled lifestyle meant that by the time he keeled over in his bathroom in 1977, he was fast heading to bankruptcy.

His ex-wife took over the reins eventually of the estate, and used the cultural impact the man had made to turn the Elvis brand into a huge money maker - we're talking hundreds of millions.

With the rise of the internet and modern technology, there is no reason why you can't use the same brand to make money, and here's how...

It's all about niche marketing.

Niche marketing means that you focus your efforts on tightly focused markets. The markets may be smaller, but because you know exactly what the market is interested in, you are able to quickly and easily give them exactly what they want.

It means you don't waste any of your marketing efforts. Using Elvis as an example, you can be an affiliate for all sorts of products. You send web traffic to sites that sell Elvis products, and if the customer buys, the software tracks it as referred by you, and you get a commission.

There is one particular poster site that has affiliates earning 5 figures per month! The Elvis market is great for posters, as you can imagine. A great plus for this model is that you don't even need a website of your own - fantastic!

Let's bring in the niche idea again, and if you want to promote posters, you wouldn't want to try and promote just posters in general - there are too many choices, so who would you promote to? With Elvis pictures, you identify and promote only to the Elvis market, and get a much better return for your marketing efforts.

So, use the power of niche marketing, and Elvis can earn you some good money!

Gordon Bryan is an internet marketer from the UK, and is also an Elvis fan! To find out more about cashing in with niche marketing go to: http://www.gordonbryan.com/nicheriches.html

Tips For Creating A Wonder Woman Costume For Halloween

There was a time when every young girl wanted to dress in a wonder woman costume for Halloween. The television show was popular and she even made an appearance during Saturday morning cartoons. Now, wonder woman costumes are alive and well and still a good choice for Halloween and costume parties.

A good wonder woman costume will stick closely to the way she is depicted in the cartoons, comics, and television show. This involves the color scheme of red, white, blue, and gold. The bottom is blue with white stars; the top is red and gold, and the top piece that goes on the head is gold with a red star. An optional accessory is a lasso, which is often her weapon of choice.

You can purchase the wonder woman costume, buy it, make it, or rent it. There are plenty of patterns and the costumes are usually available at costume rental and purchasing stores. The wonder woman costume is usually skimpy so if your child wants to wear it for Trick-or-Treat some modifications will need to be made.

Wonder Woman is usually depicted as busty and strong with long legs and hair. However, you can easily adapt a pattern to suit a child. You can turn the bottom portion into a skirt and give the top portion sleeves. This will help make the costume more child-friendly.

If you are going to an adult costume party and you would like to get into character, try watching some episodes from the television show or watch the cartoon. You can also read some of the comics. Dressing up for a costume party is more fun if you can play the character for the evening.

For added superhero fun you can enlist a group of your closest friends and have them dress in other costumes such as Superman and Spiderman. Or, if you are hosting a costume party, you can make it a superhero theme party. Just remember that if you are female and you do decide to host the party, a wonder woman costume is an excellent choice. The costume is flattering and sexy and you will definitely be one of the best dressed.

Elvis

Elvis Presley is considered by many as one of the most influential singers of the past century. There is little doubt that he was a musical hero to many popular singers as they rose to higher levels in their own careers.

Elvis had a twin brother who died shortly after birth, a devoted alcoholic mother, a father who served time in prison, an impoverished background, a mafia-like clan of close friends, a beautiful wife, and a penchant for legalized drugs.

He was able to communicate effectively with his fans through his many songs and movies. Elvis had a unique voice and singing style and some say he was a spirtual person who represented, believe it or not, the goodness in moral values.

Elvis
He entered this world but to be deprived
Through conscious mind as a twinless twin;
A child then teen driven with mother's pride
To defeat daily taunting and chagrin.
His character mold based on poverty
Provided persuasion by song and verse;
He revealed true meaning of liberty
While elite declared he a wicked curse.

Modern lifestyle assured he'd not bypass
Drug induced pain and sinful temptations;
But with early death, he seemed to amass
Rightful honour and esteemed ovations.

His words should be played on neon marquee,
"I'm just the singer who wanted to be."

Costume Parties are Not Just for Halloween Anymore Make Room for Mardi Gras!

Celebrate the most decadent time of year by throwing a Mardi Gras Costume party! Everyone loves to celebrate putting their bad behaviors to the test right before Ash Wednesday, and a Mardi Gras Costume party is a terrific way spend Fat Tuesday on a happy note.

Typically Mardi Gras costumes are brightly colored outfits adorned with feathered or plastic masks in purple, green and gold. Often you will find Mardi Gras costumes to be as outrageous and flamboyant as the celebration itself. Boas, feathers, masks, beads and other gaudy jewelry epitomize this festive time during the spring of each year.

Looking for a Mardi Gras costume idea? Just remember, anything goes! Go online or to a party store for costume ideas. Many people wear jester hats, clothes from the French Revolution period, or any royal regalia from the days of yore.

Mardi Gras costumes highlight mystery by using masks to hide the identity of the guests. While this trick usually only works on television or in movies, the masks still play a vital role in the traditional Mardi Gras costume.

For those who are really into celebrating Mardi Gras, make-up just may be the accessory they choose. Painting of faces often takes the place of using masks for costumes. Throw in a brightly colored feathered boa and beads to dress up any Mardi Gras costume.

Remember, when picking out your Mardi Gras costume, mystery and fun are two main components to keep in mind. And of course remember, anything goes!

Anyone Can Throw A Great Costume Party

Young and old alike enjoy a costume party. Wearing a costume gives a person the chance to be someone else, even if only for a short while. Maybe you’ve always fantasized about being a pirate, a belly dancer or a nurse. Hosting a costume party will allow you to fulfill that fantasy, while also allowing your guests to fulfill their own. Of course, it is a lot of fun too.

The major part of a costume party is…the costumes! Be sure to send around a list of local shops or online stores that sell costumes to your invited guests. If you don’t want any costumes to be represented twice, ask that everyone get their costumes at one location and have a “taken” list. Only do this when you have a concern that everyone will show up as Superman or another character, as you really want your guests to be able to choose the costume they will enjoy wearing the most.

A benefit of having a costume party is that the costumes will really be the focus. Decorations, food, and entertainment will be secondary to who is wearing what. You can even make the costumes the entertainment by having “Best Costume”, “Best Homemade Costume” and other “best” contests. By secret ballot, everyone can vote for their “best” and the person with the most votes will win a prize.

The real keys to throwing a costume party is organization and planning. Set the date for your party, pick a theme (if you want one), purchase invitations and get them sent out, organize the food, music and entertainment around the theme you chose (if you chose one), and be prepared for an extra person or two to show up. This will allow you to enjoy being another person for the night, instead of worrying about the party itself.

Costume Jewelry

All that glitters is not gold. Costume jewelry refers to jewelry that is made of less valuable materials, including base metals, glass, plastic, and synthetic stones. These are used in place of precious metals and gems. Also called "Fashion jewelry," costume jewelry is mostly inexpensive and flashy. Costume jewelry is not an asset for it is mainly used for fashion purposes. Because it is often used for stage costumes, it is called "costume jewelry."

Silver over brass and gold over silver are favorite combinations. Crystals have also found their way into fashion jewelry. Ivory is extensively used to create fashion jewelry for men. Low value costume jewelry involves the use of plastic and even acrylic. The majority of costume jewelry is handcrafted. Rings, bracelets, chains, pendants, earrings and necklaces are popular items of costume jewelry. These are crafted using gems such as amber, amethyst, aquamarine, freshwater pearl, garnet and opal.

A little care taken will go a long way in preserving the glitter of costume jewelry. After usage this type of jewelry must be wiped with a soft cloth since body sweat dulls the metals used. Fashion jewelry must be kept separately in the pouches or velvet boxes that they originally come in.

Never dip this jewelry in strong solutions, for it could alter the color of stones or even displace the epoxies used. Hair sprays and perfumes must be used prior to wearing costume jewelry. Costume jewelry will need periodic maintenance. They may need re-polishing in gold or silver. Dull gems must be replaced with brighter ones.

There are several advantages in buying costume jewelry. First of all, costume jewelry is inexpensive, but it is varied in style as real precious jewelry. Many times, it's an exact replica of the original, giving the buyer the satisfaction of wearing a near original piece. Since it is more affordable, many pieces can be bought for the price of one expensive piece - allowing for the wearer to have more options when it comes to their jewelry collection.

How To Outfit Yourself As A Mermaid This Halloween

Mermaids are enchanting. Some legends have the mermaid turning into a human when they are out of the water. Others require that the mermaid do something special or magical before they become human. Either way, the concept of something that is a cross between a human and a sea creature is an intriguing one.

Countless movies have been made with mermaids as the subject and they span a variety of themes. A mermaid costume is a popular choice for adults and children alike. There are some fabulous costumes that you can rent or even some intriguing patterns to make yourself. You can model the look after your own idea of what a mermaid should look like or after a popular movie character. It's up to you.

Finding a Mermaid Costume

What do you need the mermaid costume for? The answer will help determine where you should find the costume. If you need something sexy for an adult costume party, you may be able to find something that you need in a costume shop or purchase one at a novelty store.

If the costume is for your child, you can either make it or find it at a department store around Halloween. If it isn't Halloween but you still need to find a mermaid costume for a party, it may be a little more difficult to find and you may need to make it yourself

Create Your Character

When looking for the perfect costume, remember that it's important to choose something that fits your personality in some way. You want to be able to create a character for the evening. The beauty of dressing up in a costume is that you get to become that particular character for the evening.

If you are making the costume yourself it will be easier to become a mermaid that fits your unique needs and personality. If you need to buy the costume it may be a little more difficult. Just remember that no matter what you choose, you want to make sure you look stunning.

Mermaid Costume Accessories

There are some essential accessories that can make a mermaid costume fun. How about a scepter? You can be a magical mermaid with special powers. Seashell accessories such as hair clips and purses can also be a fun addition. Most of these items can be made from scratch or you can buy them or rent them with the costume.

Halloween Costumes...for Pets!

One of the best things about Halloween, is wearing a costume. If you have animals at home, why not consider a Halloween costume for pets? A Halloween costume for pets is usually made for an animal of the canine kind.

Cat owners know that the majority of felines wouldn't wear a costume. Dogs, on the other hand, are more tolerant. On the other hand, there are many dogs that won't want to wear Halloween costumes, either. Some will like them, and others certainly will not. Try a costume on your dog, and if he paws, pulls at it, or generally disagrees with it, take it off. It's never a good idea to force a pet to wear a costume.

There are several Halloween costume styles. You have t-shirts, vests, capes, bandannas, and hats. Imagine your dog flying through the room at full tilt, wearing a shining cape! How about a bumble bee costume for your pug? A witch's cape and hat for your terrier? Or what about a plain skeleton t-shirt for your pit bull?

Some dogs will wear vests, for example, but will not go for hats. Others may not like t-shirt, but will be fine with a bandannas. Many dogs that enjoy being around people, and getting lots of attention will like costumes.

If you can sew, try your hand at designing a costume for your pet. Patterns are available, as well. Have fun, and use thin fabrics that will keep your dog feeling cool.

As far as safety goes, masks are not good, as they may impair a dog's vision. Avoid anything with beads, or any loose pieces that an animal could chock on.

Remember how much fun you had dressing up in a princess costume or a cowboy costume or just putting together some silly clothes when you were a child?

And for the princess in your life, there are so many wonderful and enchanting costume choices including the Disney princess collection, Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, Aurora, Snow White and Ariel. And if your daughter loves Barbie, you'll find that too.

One of the most popular costumes for both girls and boys are pirate costumes. "Ahoy thar maties! We be off on a fun high seas adventure lookin fer buried treasure says me."

You can have lots of fun with your child if you choose to put together your own homemade costume. And you can easily pick up a few costume accessories to dress things up a little.

Where To Find The Best Selection Of Halloween Costumes

Anytime you're looking for a great costume, be it Halloween or some other event, where is it you go? Larger cities often have specialize costume shops, but not everyone has one close. Plus, they can be pretty expensive, even if you're just renting your outfit. Fortunately, as with so many other things, the internet has made a much larger selection available to anyone.

All the top costume shops have websites these days. You can view their full selection online and they will ship them to anywhere in the country, if not the entire world.

Ordering your costume from one of the online costume websites ensure you'll get both quality and selection. Some of them will even do things like altering the costume to fit, but not all so if this is something you need, make sure you check before you order.

Most costume websites not only offer costumes, but any accessories that you might want to go along with them. One of the best ways to make a truly unique costume is to add your own little touches to a standard design. Ordering online makes this easy - some websites will even let you substitute certain accessories for alternative options.

These online costume shops generally offer excellent customer service and are more than happy to offer advice on putting your costume together. This could include ideas for adult costumes or even themes for group-oriented costumes.

And best of all, they offer fast shipping and return guarantees, so as long as you order a couple of weeks before Halloween, you'll be able to get a replacement for anything that doesn't fit or is damaged in shipping.

If your kids can't make up their minds what they want to be this Halloween, check out the Get In Costume website where you'll find lots of ideas for unique Halloween costumes for kids.

How A Costume Wig Can Make Your Costume Stand Out From The Crowd

Accessories can make a world of difference to the effect of your Halloween costume. Things like wigs, facial hair and hats can put the finishing touches on a costume that would otherwise be just average. Some people even feel that the a wig is really the defining part of their costume.

Most costume wigs are quite different than a wig that is designed as a replacement for hair. They're usually made from synthetic materials, not designed for daily wear. This can make them even more durable however, so they can be used multiple times if you take proper care of them.

They're also not designed to go through the same wear and tear as other wigs, such as washing and blow drying. And while you can order them custom fit, it can get quite expensive so in most cases you'll be choosing something "off the shelf."

You can find costume wigs in a style for any type of costume. Long, short, buns, curled, straight, even bald "wigs" are all available. Plus, you can choose from all kinds of crazy colors. No more simple black, brown or blond - you'll find them in neon purple, zebra striped black & white or bright clown red.

These wigs are usually not all that expensive, and for a small amount you'll be able to make an average costume into something unique and memorable. If you're entering yourself in a costume contest of some sort, that's just the edge you need to win the prize.

If you're ordering your costume on the internet from one of the costume shop websites, you'll be able to choose from a large selection of wigs to along with it. These websites offer far more than the average costume shop, and much, much more than your local stores will.

Elvis Presley - The Real Life Hero

Elvis Presley is certainly one of the most renowned names behind music. Even today, we are absolutely obsessed about this sensation who ruled the world for more than a decade.

Elvis, in his childhood, was brought up in modest family in close association with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. He got his first taste of music while attending the Assembly of God Church. He was 10 when he made his first performance at the Mississippi and Alabama Fair in a talent contest.

In the meantime, his family, struggling money-wise, decided to move to Memphis, Tennessee in 1948, hoping for a better life. Things were quite hard in those days, forcing Elvis to work while attending LC Humes High School to help his family.

However, music was something that was already embedded within Elvis. He started developing his own style while in high school, winning the high school talent competition and even playing an encore in between.

Elvis graduated high school in 1953 and began working at a mechanics shop. The following summer he recorded his first album at The Memphis Recording Service "That's When Your Heartaches Begin" and "My Happiness.” He changed jobs frequently and started to go to night school to be an electrician. While working at Crown Electric Elvis contracted with the recording service at Memphis, released and started to perform at local events and bars. He was even booked on The Grand Ole Opry, although it was dubbed a disaster.

Later in 1954 Elvis signed on with KWKH radio for a year. Here he met 'Colonel' Tom Parker, renowned for managing artists including Eddy Arnold and Hank Snow. Soon after, Colonel Parker became Elvis’ manager, the first association that worked that started working.

Parker sold Elvis' Sun contract (The Memphis Recording Service) to RCA. In the meantime, Elvis caught the attention of Hill and Range Publishing Company, who helped create Elvis Presley Music Inc. With this, Elvis and the publishing company shared ownership of his songs.

Elvis recorded "Heartbreak Hotel" with RCA and teamed up with the Jordanaires, a gospel quartet. "Heartbreak Hotel" was released on January 27, 1956 shot up to number one on Billboard's pop singles chart for eight weeks and hit number one on the country chart and number five on the R&B chart. Presley and the Jordanaires worked together well into the late 1960s.

Elvis' road to stardom and fame started with "Heartbreak Hotel." The next 20 years were filled with music, movies, military marriage, and divorce. Elvis Presley died August 16 1977 due to heart failure at the age of 42.

Want To Send A Letter To Elvis Presley?

In August 2007, Elvis Presley fans are in for a real treat. Filmmaker Adam Muskiewicz is releasing a new film titled, The Truth About Elvis. The film will include rare interviews with close friends and relatives of Elvis Presley. Apparently, there has been much controversy and evidence pointing to the fact that Elvis may not be dead. The fact is, many rational people believe that he could be alive and hiding somewhere.

The truth about Elvis is a very unique film in that it is providing Elvis fans with an additional treat. Along with the film release, a book will be published and released subsequently with the film. The book will be titled, Letters To Elvis - What Fans Would Tell The King If He Was Alive Today.

The filmmaker is inviting Elvis fans to write handwritten letters addressed to Elvis, and explained to Elvis how they feel about him, how much they miss him, and other emotions they feel. Elvis fans are instructed to write a letter from a perspective as if Elvis were alive today.

Adam Muskiewicz states that copies of the book will be sent to Graceland, Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie Presley, close relatives of Elvis, and he promises to send copies to any avenue that would be likely to lead to Elvis. This way, if Elvis were alive somewhere, he would surely receive a copy of the book and be able to read personal letters from his fans.

The truth about Elvis is a film that seeks the truth of whether or not Elvis really died on August 16, 1977. Several credible people have given theories and explanations that describe a different story from what the public has been led to believe. Adam Muskiewicz cuts right to the chase in his film. There are specific reasons people believe Elvis is alive. What are they? Adam Muskiewicz explores these questions with the people most likely to know the truth.

What I have found to be very unique about the film, is the fact that Adam Muskiewicz has approached this film as an objective researcher. He has researched this subject for many years, traveled the country in hopes of capturing evidence that reveals the truth about Elvis.

Indeed, this film will be something that the average Elvis fan will be very interested in. Moreover, it will capture the attention and interest of everyone. I believe that August 2007, which marks the 30th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, will be a special time for Elvis fans. If Elvis were indeed alive, this would be the time for the truth to be revealed.

Although other anniversaries of Elvis's death have been special to his fans, this year's anniversary will be extra special. The Truth About Elvis, will no doubt only add to this occasion. Furthermore, the fact that Letters To Elvis, is going to be published and released at the same time, fans will enjoy an extra special time with this anniversary.

You are invited to write a hand written letter to Elvis Presley and send it to the filmmaker. He is going to publish each letter in the book. One of the rules the filmmaker has established is that the letter must be hand written. He also would like the letter to limited to two pages.

Would you like to send a hand written letter to Elvis?

Letters are being received at this time for publishing preparation. You may send your hand written letter to the following address:

LETTERS TO ELVIS
11901 SANTA MONICA BLVD, #551
LOS ANGELES, CA 90025

Indeed, if Elvis is alive somewhere and reads the book, Letters To Elvis, he will have a chance to find out how his fans miss him. I will be interested in finding out how this all turns out.

How To Create A Medieval Costume For Halloween

The Medieval Era is a time that holds a lot of fascination. Medieval themed fairs and parks are popular and are filled with traditional all kinds of people dressed in the traditional Medieval costume styles of the period. Also, a good medieval costume is also something that makes for a great addition to a costume party or Halloween party.

It is important to keep in mind while choosing a medieval costume is that there are different types of costumes depending on what you want to do. The wealthy dressed far differently than the poor and every day dress differed from special occasion dress. If you want to dress as a king from the Medieval Era, your costume will be much different than if you dressed as a peasant.

Here are some ideas to help you choose a medieval costume that is right for your situation.

Authentic Period Dress

Drawings and paintings do exist from that time and they give us valuable glimpses into the style of dress. If you want to design your own medieval costume or find an authentic one you may want to study some of these works of art to get a feel for the type of clothes you like. You can look for information on the internet, in text books, in libraries, or in art museums for authentic medieval costume ideas.

Buying Your Medieval Costume

You can purchase your own medieval costume. But, keep in mind that the really authentic ones can get expensive. Check for costumes that are second hand or look in costume shops that may have them for purchase. Also check a few local theaters. They may have a medieval costume that theyíd be willing to sell to you.

Making the Medieval Costume

Of course if you have the skills you can make your own medieval costume. All you need is a pattern and the materials. You can either purchase the pattern or design your own. You can buy the materials from fabric shops or specialty fabric vendors if you want materials that are truly authentic.

Renting Your Medieval Costume

This is perhaps the easiest option. Costume shops should have a decent selection of medieval costumes. If you leave near a big city it will be even easier to find a costume to rent. Call ahead to make sure the shop has a good selection.

Couples Halloween Costumes

Halloween costumes for couples are popular, because couples often want to look “connected.” The imagination can go wild when thinking about things, people and themes that are related. If you are not creative this way, fortunately there are Halloween costumes sites that are.

Famous couples are very popular. Think about Ricky and Lucy, Gilligan and MaryAnne, Fred and Wilma, Caesar and Cleopatra, Dog the Bounty Hunter and Beth, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein, or Robin Hood and Maid Marion. Or make a political statement with George W. and Condeleeza. Theme costumes can be fun; they can be characters out of movies or stories.

The costumes themselves can be made authentically or made sexier. Consider Captain Jack Spade and his girlfriend, prison guard and prisoner, King and Queen, Prom King and Queen, the Wolf and Red Riding Hood, doctor and nurse, Mummy King and Queen, Toga Couple, or even Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss.

Then there are the funny couples Halloween costumes: Plug and Socket, Mustard and Ketchup, Bacon and Eggs, Brick Layer and Brick House, Bun Maker and Bun in the oven, Nut and Bolt.

Some of the classically popular couples costumes are a pirate costume and wench costume, toga costume for the male and goddess for the female, vampire and beautiful, sexy victim, Spiderman and Wonder Woman, and Elvis and his red hot mama. Whatever costumes you decide on, Halloween is the time to act out your fantasies and have a little fun with yourself.

Elvis Presley Had Great Karma!

Elvis Presley was one of the most popular entertainers of the 20th century. Although Elvis is gone, he is certainly not forgotten. It seems that he is just as popular in death, as in life. In fact, some would argue, that Elvis is even more popular now more than ever.

Elvis fulfilled the all American dream. He acquired fame and wealth. But while he enjoyed extreme fame and fortune, some argue that he could not enjoy the fruits of his labor. Many books have been published, and stories told from Elvis insiders that he tried to enjoy his wealth by giving to others.

Elvis simply could not buy a new car, and take it for a spin on the road. In fact, he did try that a couple of times. However, whenever Elvis was seen on the road, a traffic jam would develop, as a tremendous amount of people would want to see him at close range.

So Elvis tried to enjoy the fruits of his labor through other means. He would purchase cars, jewelry, homes, and other expensive items, and give them to others. It is said that Elvis once went to a new car dealer, purchased a new automobile, and asked a stranger if he liked it.

When the stranger nodded, yes, Elvis handed him the keys and told them to take it. I believe that Elvis enjoyed his wealth by sharing it with others. He would give these expensive items away as gifts, and get a blessing from their reaction.

Most of the time, their reaction was tears of joy and happiness. Elvis not only got a kick out of giving gifts to others, but it became a way of life for him. I read a story where Elvis and Priscilla bought one of his employees a new home. Elvis and Priscilla showed up at Charlie Hodge's apartment and asked him and his wife to go with them somewhere.

They took them to a neighborhood in Memphis and asked them if they liked a particular house. After looking at the home, Elvis and Priscilla took them to the real estate office and proceeded to purchase the home for them. The couple was newly married and had a child on the way. A home that was paid for went a long way with giving them a handle on their finances.

It is said that karma is real. If this is the case, then Elvis Presley had great karma. Elvis could not give things away, before more wealth would be accumulated for him. It seems that wealth followed Elvis everywhere he went.

Perhaps it was because of his generous giving and sharing with others that helped cause him to acquire such great wealth himself. Can you imagine what it would have been like to be at new car dealer and Elvis walk-in and hand you the keys to a new car?

It is recorded and documented, that Elvis did exactly that, more times than could be counted.

The Joy of Sexy Halloween Costumes

Halloween remains a time of the year when an individual can let others see another side of their nature that they would often not let visible. The reason for this is that one could always claim “plausible denial” of one’s own nature by hiding one’s inner sentiment through wearing a specific Halloween costume. More than anything else, for a costume to have an impact one those who see it, the costume must be memorable. Of course, there are a number of ways that a costume has a memorable impact on those who see it. For example, tacky or offensive costumes will stick in people’s minds, but not to the reason that the wearer of the costume originally intended. Needless to say, creative and interesting costumes are what the wearer should shoot for if the purpose is to be impressive. But, of all the types of costumes that are out there, what types of Halloween themed costumes would fall into the category of being the most memorable? Without a doubt, the type of costume that would turn heads the most and embed itself into the minds of anyone who sees it would be sexy Halloween costumes. The reason for this would be obvious.

A sexy costume essentially follows the theme of less equals more. In other words, a traditional Halloween costume such as a witch, a nurse, a cowboy, etc is modified by simply making the costume somewhat skimpier and more revealing. Because of this, it is not so much what is exposed that becomes sexy, it is what is hidden. There is a certain power of suggestion associated with a sensual Halloween costume and this is what drives the erotic power of the costume. Of course, there is a fine line between erotica and sensuality and raunchiness.

If the design of the costume slips into being too revealing, then is ceases to be sexy and becomes an obnoxious Halloween costume. Such a costume will definitely turn heads, but they will be turning in the opposite direction. As such, it would be wise to avoid such a classless costume and stick with the more tasteful, yet erotic model.

Putting Together the Perfect Halloween Costume

If you're going to a costume party or some other event for Halloween, you probably want to really impress everyone with your costume. And the best type of costume is one that will really let you get into character - something that you feel proud to be wearing.

You can put together your own costume or buy one of the cheap ones that you'll find at your local drug store, but to really go the distance and get a great costume it pays to get it through a professional costume store. Whether you rent it or buy it, you'll be a lot happier with the results.

A good costume store won't try to sell you more than you need. They'll help you to find a costume that suits both your needs and your budget. They'll also make sure you're familiar with how to don the costume, and any other accessories or makeup that goes along with it.

To really make a splash at the costume party, you want to go all the way with your costume. Don't cut corners and try to save a few dollars by going with something cheaper or not as complete.

Get all the accessories you'll need - makeup, props, a quality mask, etc. Having the complete package will make your costume that much more realistic (and will make it that much harder for your friends to recognize who you really are!)

If you're not sure exactly what accessories you'll need, do a little research. Are you thinking of going as an elf from The Lord of the Rings? Watch the movies again to pick up all the details in the costumes.

Or perhaps you want to be a pirate this year? The Pirates of the Caribbean movies can give you a ton of good ideas for your costume.

Take the time to get all the details just right and you'll be the talk of the party - even if nobody knows who you really are!

The Best Renaissance Costume

Several decades ago, people began to start renaissance festivals. These quickly spread all over the United States and the popularity for them grew and grew. Among other things, people like these fairs because you can wear renaissance costumes to them. The average renaissance costumes show the fashions of that era, which is actually very fashionable. You don’t have to wear a medieval renaissance costume only to a festival, though. If you are planning on going to a Halloween costume party, you can wear a renaissance fair costume there as well. This is because this sort of outfit is just as cool at a Halloween party as it is at a fair.

The main thing about a renaissance era costume is the style. You don’t have to make it accurate, but it will look better if it is. There are also child renaissance costumes if your kid likes this style. In fact, a fun thing to do is have the whole family go dressed up this way. Then you can have a theme that everyone will enjoy. The great thing is that the man renaissance costume is just as good as the renaissance girl costume. This is often not the case with other kinds of costumes.

There are different kinds of renaissance festival costume too depending on which country you choose the costume to be from. For example, the Italian renaissance costume will look quite a bit different than the French renaissance costume. For example, the French version will have a lot more ruffles and lace than the Italian version.

Another great thing about this kind of costume is that even bigger people can wear them. Plenty of costume sellers have plus size renaissance costumes since they know there is a market for it. Then you don’t need to worry about whether or not you will find a costume for yourself. A renaissance costume for kids will also usually come in bigger sizes as well.

If you are interested in getting a costume of the renaissance period, there are several ways to do this. You can usually find men’s and women’s renaissance costumes at the actual renaissance fairs and festivals. You can also find a renaissance pirate costume at regular costume shops. This is because the renaissance theater costume has become so popular. Then you can have your very own renaissance peasant costume that you can wear both to fairs and to Halloween costume parties.

If you are looking for a renaissance costume for yourself, be sure to look at the sexy renaissance wench costume. If you are looking for a medieval renaissance costume for your little one, check out the child renaissance costume section.

How To Come Up With Fun & Creative Costume Ideas

When it comes to choosing a costume, whether for Halloween or some other event, some people dive right into it and others struggle for ideas. Whichever camp you fall into, you're not alone. But if you're in the "I can't come up with a costume" group, there are plenty of ways to get ideas.

First, you should probably narrow down your choices a bit by looking at several things. First, what sort of event is the costume for? Is there a theme for everyone to follow or can you choose freely? Is it a family affair or adults only? And will the location and/or the weather play a part in your choice?

Plus, you'll have to decide whether you're going to buy or rent your costume or put something together yourself.

Once you've got these simple guidelines worked out, you'll need to decide what you want to dress up as. What kind of costume accessories might you need? For example, hats, wigs, gloves, masks, etc.

Buying your costume from your local costume seller is usually the simplest option, although for a wider selection you're probably best going to one of the costume shop websites. Even if you buy your costume, you can always put your own finishing touches on it to make it unique and a little more special.

If you decide to make your own costume, it'll obviously be more work but then you can design it exactly the way you want. It's rare that you'll find a retail costume that has exactly what you're looking for, plus creating your own might save you some money.

Your local thrift store is a great place to search for old clothes that you can use as a basis for your costume.

A fan of Elvis?!

From being a fan of Elvis Presley for 30 years I have spent hundreds and thousands of dollars on memorabilia. I can`t walk by a poster or t-shirt with Elvis. It`s like a magnet! After collecting all these memorabilies I have turned my office into my own Elvis space. This is where I can listen to my favorite music and have my keepsakes. I keep all my cd`s, t-shirts, all the souvernirs here and I love it. This is my den! The last souvernir I bought is a match box with photos of Elvis on the back and front. This is so easy to assemble yourself!

If you have someone in your family or some of your friends are a fan of a super star, and you`re in need of a little gift, make them a little memorabilia.

Find some nice photos of your/their favorite star on the internet or if you have some of your own. Cut the photos to fit match boxes and glue the photos on front and back. Make several boxes and put them in a container, a planter or coffe cup. Wrap it in cellofan, tie a bow around the top and you have a perfect gift!

Tips For Choosing A Fancy Dress Costume

Going to a fancy dress party can be great fun. It is the kind of occasion when embarrassment is a thing of the past, and you learn to simply have fun with what you are doing. Of course, the most important part of a fancy dress party is the costume that you wear to the occasion. Some fancy dress parties will have themes or motifs that they follow, and this will make it much easier for you to choose your costume. Otherwise, you might have to get creative and think of a costume of your own.

After you have chosen a costume of your own, you will have two options. The first is to go to the store and buy a costume that will be good. The second, and the more fun, option is to make the costume out of things you find around your home (or, if you must, cheap things you buy from the store). You can go to a fancy dress store and get certain rudimentary supplies such as fake beards, wigs, hats, or other small accessories. Putting the entire costume together is a truly artistic endeavor.

When you make your costume, you should consider future usage of it. Do you think you’ll go to another fancy dress party anytime in the near future? If so, you might want to create your costume with that in mind. Plan to use materials that will stay in good condition, even if you shove the costume into your closet for a few months. On the other hand, if you plan on only going to a single fancy dress party, you can put together a costume that is relatively disposable.

Hopefully you’ve learned a few tips about fancy dress, and now you’ll be able to successfully get your own and have fun at all the parties.

History Of Elvis

Elvis Aaron Presley was born to Vernon and Gladys Presley in a two room house in Tupelo Mississippi on January 8, 1935. He was born with a twin called Jessie Garon, but unfortunately Jessie was still born. Vernon and Gladys had no more children leaving Elvis to be raised as an only child. In 1948 the Presley family moved to Memphis Tennessee and Elvis graduated from Humes High School in 1953.

Elvis found his musical influences form pop, country music of the time, and also the gospel music he heard at church. In 1954 Elvis began his singing career with the legendary Sun Records label based in Memphis Tennessee. This recording contract was then sold to RCA Victor in 1955. The following year Elvis had become and international sensation.

His sound was extremely unique and combined his diverse musical influences that broke down the barriers between social and racial classes of the time. He was the birth of a whole new era for American pop music and music across the world as a whole.

Elvis starred in 33 hugely successful films with numerous television appearances and specials. He also frequently had record breaking live concerts on tour and often in Las Vegas. Elvis has sold more records than any other artist in history with over one billion total sales. He had 14 Grammy nominations with 3 wins, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.>

His talent, good looks, sensuality, charisma, and good humor endeared him to millions, as did the humility and human kindness he demonstrated throughout his life. Known the world over by his first name, he is regarded as one of the most important figures of twentieth century popular culture. Elvis died at his Memphis home, Graceland, on August 16, 1977.

How To Get The Most Out Of Costume Rentals

How often do you need to wear a costume? Children usually wear one costume a year, for example. And they often choose different costumes year after year. Adult costume parties are the same. People don't like to wear the same costume over and over. Also, if the costume parties you tend to attend are themed, wearing a costume twice is almost completely out of the question.

So, the option that makes sense for a lot of people is to do a costume rental. They are fairly inexpensive and if you go far enough in advance to choose and reserve your costume, you'll end up with a lot of good choices.

Deciding on a Costume

Before you visit the costume rental shop, spend some time thinking about which costume you would like. This could save a lot of hassle because you could call multiple shops in advance and ask if they have the costume in and if they do, you can inquire about their rates. Keep in mind that if you suspect your costume rental idea is a popular one that you'll need to reserve it well in advance.

Finding a Costume Rental Shop

You can rent costumes either online or at an actual store. It is fun to visit costume shops and try on the various outfits. To find a costume rental shop with a great selection, you may want to do your research first. Look online or ask others where they go to rent their costumes. It is best to have a few costume rental shops in mind in case one doesn't have what you need.

Reserving the costume

Certain days of the year are a big deal for costumes. Halloween is by far the most popular and there are usually Halloween parties happening throughout October. Costume parties can occur throughout the year but second to Halloween, winter is a popular time for costume rentals. Keep this in mind when renting a costume. As soon as you know about the event, visit the store to see what they have to offer and make a decision as quickly as possible. When you do reserve it, make sure you understand how they charge. If it is per day, you'll want to pick it up the day of the event.

Elvis In Las Vegas - Location Spotting Around Town

You looking for Elvis? You've come to the right place. The main association Las Vegas has for most people is the 1970s jumpsuited King in concert, but he had ties with the city long before he donned a sequinned cape.

Today’s Las Vegas remembers Elvis with its many impersonators who can carry out a wedding or renewal of vows ceremony for you at many of the city’s wedding chapels. Or why not check out Big Elvis – an impersonator with a free lounge show at the Barbary Coast Hotel.

But if you want a little more real Elvis history, take a look at some of the locations below:

* The Aladdin Hotel. Elvis and Priscilla tied the knot here in May 1967. A new Aladdin now takes its place, but you can still have an Elvis wedding of your own in a suite (just as Elvis did), or in the hotel’s chapel.
* The Flamingo Hotel. In Viva Las Vegas, Elvis was a poolboy here. It hasn’t changed much since.
* The Little Church of the West. A Las Vegas landmark for over 50 years, this is the chapel where in the 1963 film Viva Las Vegas, Elvis and Ann-Margret married in their very own happy ending.
* The Hartland Mansion. Once home to Elvis, and the venue for weddings and celebrity parties ever since. It can be toured by groups of 50 or more – just call direct to arrange this with the current owner.
* The Las Vegas Hilton is where Elvis used to perform during his Las Vegas heyday – there were 837 consecutive sold-out performances between 1969 and 1977.
* The Golden Steer Steak House was one of his favourite haunts during his Vegas heyday, and was a hangout for the Rat Pack and John Wayne during their visits to the city.
* The Imperial Palace Auto Collection has one of Elvis's old cars - a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe.
* Cirque du Soleil are planning a new show based on Elvis and his music, due to open in a new Las Vegas casino in 2008.

We want the cutest costume for our infant or toddler. We want a costume for our kids that will excite their imaginations and give them confidence. In demand men’s costumes are the movie characters, Spiderman, Jason, Michael Myers and Jack Sparrow. Any of the WWW wrestling characters are winners, as well. The Geico Caveman is a new entrance to the mix. More classic ideas are kings, pirates, sheiks, devils, prisoners, or Elvis. Political costumes can either declare a political stance or be used to start a debate. (Be careful of the guy with the pitchfork!).
