Elvis is one of the legendary performers of all time and everyone – and I do mean – everyone thinks they do the “perfect” Elvis impression. So, having an Elvis Theme party is the perfect opportunity to invite all Elvis clones young and all to show off their stuff. Guests should be encouraged to attend the Elvis Theme Party in their favorite Elvis costume or in a supporting role costume from one of Elvis’ famous movies or other performance. Guests should also be ready to perform at least one Elvis tune. Of course, many will pick the same Elvis song to perform, but I can guarantee they won’t put on any where near identical performances.

Guests should be given the opportunity to participate in an American Idol like contest based upon Elvis performances. Get some objective judges to act in the roles of Randy, Paula and Simon to critique the performances in the most positive, yet amusing ways possible. Then, when the performances are through, give the remaining guests the chance to “vote” for their favorite. As the votes are being tallied, open up the karaoke microphone to other budding songbirds that may just want to sing anything.

Decorations and party accessories will be easy to find. You can make your own unique invitations by writing directly onto old 45 records. Records and various Elvis paraphernalia will make great decorating accessories too. With the guests in full Elvis garb, be prepared to hear as you offer them drinks and appetizers, many replies of yes, thank you – thank you very much! The night will be kooky, and it will be fun, but I can guarantee that your home full of Elvis clones will be mighty quiet when they all leave to the point where you will be glad to say “Thank goodness, the last Elvis has left the building!”
